TXI Design Principles

TXI's design principles guide their work as advocates, researchers, innovators, communicators, and craftspeople through humanity, curiosity, ingenuity, clarity, and quality.

  1. Humanity

As advocates, pursue equitable and accessible design by addressing the needs of the most marginalized users, continuously testing with users and interrogating biases to create better experiences for everyone.

  2. Curiosity

As researchers, pursue knowledge and understanding by questioning underlying purpose and impact, using evidence and data to guide discovery while interrogating assumptions and invalidating hypotheses.

  3. Ingenuity

As innovators, respect existing tools and frameworks while borrowing inspiration from adjacent spaces, identifying connections between disparate ideas to combine elements in novel ways.

  4. Clarity

As communicators, distill ideas to their essence through reframing and summarizing concepts, pushing for tangibility and specificity to pare things down for coherence and comprehension.

  5. Quality

As craftspeople, create honest and aesthetic experiences through thoughtful experimentation and joyful exploration, balancing utility and beauty while ensuring everything is well made.
