Responsive Principles

Three principles for building a web that remains accessible to all, starting from adaptability and embracing user diversity.

  1. Start from the point of greatest adaptability

Begin with the most flexible, least constrained version. Enhance from there rather than degrading from a complex starting point.

  2. Reflect the diversity of users within our practice

Build teams that represent the variety of people who use the web. Diverse perspectives catch assumptions others miss.

  3. Build using systems that can be reasoned with

Create predictable, understandable systems. If you can’t explain how something works, you can’t maintain it.
